Lycus Dergisi, 2022Mastaura Antik Kenti, Aydın İli, Nazilli ilçe merkezinin yaklaşık 3 km. kuzeyinde dar bir vadi içinde yer alır. Mesogis (Aydın Dağları) eteklerinde, Maiandros (Büyük Menderes) Ovası kenarındaki kent sulak ve bereketli bir yere kurulmuştur. Ege kıyılarından Anadolu’nun içlerine uzanan Caput Viae yolunun önemli kentlerinden birisidir.

Over the next five years it is planned to survey and record in as much detail as practicable five Byzantine castles in the area of the Büyük and Küçük Menderes river systems in western Turkey.
