The Influence Of The Rare Earth Metals Modification On The Fracture Toughness Of G17CrMo5-5 Cast Steel At Low Temperatures

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2015
This paper presents the influence of the rare earth metals (REM) modification on mechanical properties and fracture toughness of G17CrMo5-5 cast steel at low temperatures. The REM was in the form of mishmetal.

What can we learn by squeezing a liquid

open access: yes, 2006
Relaxation times for different temperatures, T, and specific volumes, V, collapse to a master curve versus TV^g, with g a material constant. The isochoric fragility, m_V, is also a material constant, inversely correlated with g.

Aging phenomena in nonlinear dissipative chains: Application to polymer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We study energy relaxation in a phenomenological model for polymer built from rheological considerations: a one dimensional nonlinear lattice with dissipative couplings.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Massive Nonplanar Two-Loop Maximal Unitarity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We explore maximal unitarity for nonplanar two-loop integrals with up to four massive external legs. In this framework, the amplitude is reduced to a basis of master integrals whose coefficients are extracted from maximal cuts.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

The Quantum $A_{\infty}$-Relations on the Elliptic Curve

open access: yes, 2021
We define and prove the existence of the Quantum $A_{\infty}$-relations on the Fukaya category of the elliptic curve, using the notion of the Feynman transform of a modular operad, as defined by Getzler and Kapranov. Following Barannikov, these relations

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Final rubbery state characterization using a hollow cylinder dynamic shear sample on DMA7 [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2004
Dynamic properties of raw natural rubber were examined using a hollow cylinder shaped samplesubjected to shear deformation on a laboratory Dynamic Mechanical Analyser.

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...
