The Impact of Periodontitis on Oral Health Outcomes in Older Adults: A Systematic Review

open access: yesGerodontology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To systematically review the impact of periodontitis on clinical oral health outcomes and oral health‐related quality of life (OHRQoL) in older adults (≥ 60 years). Background Global evidence shows that severe periodontitis prevalence peaks in the 60s, yet how periodontitis relates specifically to oral health outcomes in older adults

Comparative evaluation of the masticatory efficiency of complete dentures with bio-engineered teeth and conventional denture teeth using electromyography – A randomised crossover clinical study

open access: yesAdvances in Human Biology, 2020
Background and Objective: Resorption of residual ridge is common problem related to edentulous mandible. One of the main causes of resorption of denture-supporting structures is traumatic or excessive force transmitted through the prosthesis.

Influence of Saliva Secretion on Masticatory Efficiency

open access: yesNihon Hotetsu Shika Gakkai Zasshi, 2003

Studies on the masticatory efficiency - Through masticatory efficiency measuring device by means of sedimentation method.

open access: yesNihon Hotetsu Shika Gakkai Zasshi, 1983
The author, applying the sedimentation method generally used in physics and applied chemistry to the prosthetic field, has taken measurements of the particle-size distribution of masticated particles, and for the purpose of finding criterion for rating the mastication efficiency, has carried out a preliminary experiment, using watersoaked, uncooked ...
