The Sensitivity of Mastitic and Non-Mastitic Staphylococcus Albus Organisms to Sulphonamides
British Veterinary Journal, 1966SUMMARY The bacteriostatic effects of sulphathiazole, sulphapyridine, sulphamerazine and sulphadimidine were studied on seven mastitic and eight non-mastitic Staphylococcus albus organisms. Sulphathiazole in trypticase soy broth (TSB) was the most effective, followed by sulphapyridine, sulphamerazine and sulphadimidine, in that order.

Bacterial Growth in mastitic Milk and Whey
Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Series B, 1986SummaryGrowth ofStr. agalactiae, S. aureusandE. coliwas analyzed in 20 milk and whey samples, half of which were from mastitic quarters and the other half from healthy quarters of the same cows. The increase in bacterial biomass in whole milk was followed by monitoring ATP by a luciferin‐luciferase luminometric procedure.

Inhibition of the proteinase activity in mastitic milk
Journal of Dairy Research, 1995SummaryThe antiproteolytic activity of selected proteinase inhibitors was studied in mastitic bovine milk and urokinase-activated normal milk using a caseolytic agar diffusion assay. The inhibition profiles of mastitic milk and urokinase-activated milk were compared with those of purified proteinases.
