Crescent Mastopexy and Augmentation
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1985We have defined a group of patients with a lesser degree of moderate breast ptosis whose ptosis correction is not adequately improved by augmentation alone but requires some elevation of the nipple-areola complex. We have selected the crescent excision mastopexy to provide this additional needed lift.

Conventional techniques of reduction mammaplasty result in obvious and sometimes unpleasant scars. G. Peixoto (1980, 1984, 1985) has developed a technique of mastopexy and reduction mammaplasty which leaves only minimal scars. Good results are to be achieved in younger females with contractile skin with breast asymmetry and moderate mammary hypertrophy

The objective of this study was to assess a new procedure for breast mastopexy, fascial suspension mastopexy.Between December of 2001 and July of 2004, 52 patients (102 breasts) underwent fascial suspension mastopexy. Sixteen women had grade 1 ptosis (30 percent), 31 had grade 2 ptosis (60 percent), two had grade 3 ptosis (4 percent), two (4 percent ...

Pearls to Avoid Pitfalls with Mastopexy and Mastopexy-Augmentation
2021Mastopexy and mastopexy-augmentation are challenging operations that beautify and rejuvenate the breast. Mastopexy reshapes the breast and elevates the nipple-areola complex into a more youthful position, most commonly addressing ptosis seen with aging, weight loss, or postpartum changes.

Breast ptosis occurs as a physiological downward dislocation of the breast as an effect of pregnancy and lactation in young women, or as a postmenopausal reduction of estrogen in the elderly. Certain medications, weight gain or loss, and genetic predisposition can also contribute to the development of ptosis.

The minus-plus mastopexy technique is designed for correction of moderate or major breast ptosis where breast volume is adequate but located in the lower quadrants and increased fullness in the upper quadrants is desired. The advantages of this procedure are absence of a medial scar, excellent projection, ensured nipple viability, speed, and ...

Periareolar Augmentation-Mastopexy
Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2019Abstract The authors describe their surgical technique for single-stage periareolar mastopexy with subglandular breast augmentation. They have performed this procedure in 85 patients since 2009 and found that this operative technique has allowed them to achieve reproducible outcomes in a single-stage procedure. Periareolar mastopexy with

Breasts represent femininity and any change of shape may affect their appearance. Breast ptosis may be caused by several factors, including significant weight loss, pregnancy, long breastfeeding periods, and involution of the postmenopausal breast tissue.

Deskinning in Inverted-T Mastopexy and Augmentation Mastopexy: A Retrospective Cohort Study
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 2020Most surgeons choose to de-epithelialize when performing a mastopexy to minimize the risk of nipple-areola-complex (NAC) necrosis. Preservation of the dermis and thus the subdermal plexus is thought to be crucial for the survival of the NAC. However, this has never been scientifically proven.

The "flip-flap" mastopexy modifies the McKissock vertical bipedicle design by creating a wide superiorly based flap of breast tissue deep to the vertical bipedicle. Transposition of this flap up and beneath the upper breast, with suture anchoring to the pectoralis fascia at the level of the second rib, restores upper breast fullness, decreases ...
