Substrate-Selective Temperature-Controlled Synthesis of Thiophene Derivatives at Interfaces. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
The deposition of a dithiophene derivative on Ag(111) at room temperature followed by annealing gives rise to molecular wires, whereas the adsorption of the same precursor on a hot substrate affords the formation of benzotrithiophene species. Abstract The temperature‐controlled transformation of organic molecules at interfaces is an incipient yet ...

Unconventional Fast Room Temperature Synthesis of Covalent Organic Framework Single Crystals Unveiling Precise Structural Insights. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
This work presents a fast, room‐temperature synthesis of single‐crystalline, highly fluorinated 2D covalent organic frameworks (COFs). We achieved the growth of 3‐micron‐long COF rods, enabling the precise study of their mechanical properties and aggregation states.

Tunable Oxygen Connectivity in Carbaporphyrinoid Polymers on Metal Surfaces

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Hydroxyl‐functionalized dicarbaporphyrinoid polymers synthesized on Au(111) enable tunable oxygen‐mediated connectivity under UHV conditions. Thermal activation yields one‐dimensional hydroxyl‐terminated polymers that can selectively evolve into either covalently‐linked dibenzo‐p‐dioxane architectures through intermolecular C–O–C coupling or two‐fold ...

Degradable Ureido-Polycarbonate Block Copolymers with a Complex UCST Thermoresponse. [PDF]

open access: yesMacromol Rapid Commun
Amphiphilic block copolymers with degradable ureido‐functionalized polycarbonate segments self‐assemble into spherical micelles in water, exhibiting an intriguing upper critical solution temperature (UCST) behavior. Upon heating, these micelles swell, collapse, and reorganize into highly hydrated condensates that mimic polymeric nanogels.

Driving Multi‐Step Regioselectivity in On‐Surface Polymer Synthesis by Molecular Coverage

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 48, November 24, 2025.
Regioselective polymerization of dicyclopentaanthracene on Au(111) can be controlled by tuning molecular coverage. Low coverage yields 1D polymers, medium coverage produces quasi‐1D staircase polymers, and higher coverage drives 2D porous networks.
