In this paper, we survey some recent developments on statistical properties of matchings of very large and infinite graphs. We discuss extremal graph theoretic results like Schrijver’s theorem on the number of perfect matchings of regular bipartite graphs and its variants from the point of view of graph limit theory.

Uncertainty Analysis in Statistical Matching
2012Among the goals of statistical matching, a very important one is the estimation of the joint distribution of variables not jointly observed in a sample survey but separately available from independent sample surveys. The absence of joint information on the variables of interest leads to uncertainty about the data generating model.

Statistics of Color-Matching Data*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1952The distribution of color matches about a color center is investigated. Pearson’s χ2 test is used, and the data are found to be normally distributed. A comparison is made between the observed variations of g11, g22, and g33, the principal terms of the color-discrimination tensor, and the variations expected from statistical theory. The experimental and

Generalized Pattern Matching Statistics
2002In pattern matching algorithms, a characteristic parameter is the number of occurrences of a given pattern in a random text of length n generated by a source. We consider here a generalization of the pattern matching problem in two ways. First, we deal with a generalized notion of pattern that encompasses classical patterns as well as “hidden patterns”.

Practical Applications of Statistical Matching
2002Much of the literature describing traditional approaches and techniques that are used in practice are working papers, technical or internal reports. Often they are difficult to obtain if available at all. Most of the reports or articles published are less theoretical; details about the final matching algorithms are often best explained in private talks

Frequentist Theory of Statistical Matching
2002The objective of statistical matching techniques is the generation of a new data set that allows even more flexible analysis than each single data set. In particular, the associations between variables never jointly observed are specified in such a completed data set. In this chapter we show whether a statistically matched file may be analyzed as if it

Matching error(s) and quality of statistical matching in complex surveys
2019The goal of statistical matching, at a “macro” level, is the estimation of a joint distribution having observed only samples from its marginals. In general, the problem is complicate, due to the lack of identifiability of the joint distribution. As a consequence, an intrinsic matching error will affect every matching procedure.
