Multimode Phonon Lasing via Self‐Induced Optical Coherent Pumping

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 13, 8 July 2026.
A silicon optomechanical nanobeam generates self‐sustained phonon lasing in multiple competing mechanical modes via self‐pulsing, an intrinsic optical modulation arising from cavity nonlinearity. This self‐organized mechanism enables robust multi‐frequency operation spanning periodic, quasi‐periodic, and chaotic regimes without external modulation. The

Accurate Computations with Block Checkerboard Pattern Matrices

open access: yesMathematics
In this work, block checkerboard sign pattern matrices are introduced and analyzed. They satisfy the generalized Perron–Frobenius theorem. We study the case related to total positive matrices in order to guarantee bidiagonal decompositions and some ...

Numerical Approach of a Porous Thermoelastic Problem With Microtemperatures and Fading Memory

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 106, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT In this work, we study, from the numerical point of view, a porous thermoelastic problem with microtemperatures, where the thermal evolution is influenced by the history of both the temperature and microtemperatures. This leads to a coupled system of partial integro‐differential equations.

Accurate Computations with Generalized Pascal k-Eliminated Functional Matrices

open access: yesMathematics
This paper presents an accurate method to obtain the bidiagonal decomposition of some generalized Pascal matrices, including Pascal k-eliminated functional matrices and Pascal symmetric functional matrices.

Soil Microbial Diversity and Network Organization Respond to Land Use and Agricultural Inputs Worldwide

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
Based on a global analysis of 1921 soil samples, we show that agricultural management acts as a powerful ecological filter reshaping microbial communities. Land use and inputs—pesticides and fertilizers—drive a functional shift toward opportunistic pathogens and fragmented, less connected microbial networks, potentially compromising soil ecosystem ...

Inverse problems of polynomial and rational matrices involving the eigenstructure and data of the column and row spaces

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 1, July 2026.
Abstract The eigenstructure of a rational matrix is comprised by its invariant rational functions, both finite and at infinity, and by the minimal indices of its left and right null spaces. These quantities arise in many applications and have been thoroughly studied in numerous references.

Assessing Cost Efficiency Thresholds in Fragmented Agriculture: A Gamma-Based Model of the Trade-Off Between Unit and Total Parcel Costs

open access: yesAppliedMath
Parcel size strongly influences agricultural production costs, and combining spatial and economic information within a mathematical setting helps to clarify this relationship.

Coupled Versus Uncoupled Blow-Up Rates in Cooperative n-Species Logistic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2017
This paper ascertains the exact boundary blow-up rates of the large positive solutions of a class of cooperative logistic systems involving n species in a general domain of ℝN{\mathbb{R}^{N}} of class 𝒞2+ν{\mathcal{C}^{2+\nu ...

An Exact Method for Reliable Shortest Path Problems With Correlation

open access: yesNetworks, Volume 87, Issue 4, Page 372-389, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Shortest path problems often arise in contexts where travel times are uncertain. In these settings, reliable paths are often valued more than paths with lower expected travel times. This has led to several variants of reliable shortest path problems (RSPP) that handle travel time reliability differently. We propose an algorithmic framework for
