Recent progress on nanotechnologies for enhancing blood‐brain barrier permeability

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
In this review, we summarize innovative strategies for harnessing the power of nanotechnology to enhance blood‐brain barrier permeability, a key challenge for central nervous system (CNS) drug delivery. We overview structural innovation of nanocarriers, improvements in targeting strategies, and nanotechnology‐enhanced brain imaging.

Curcumin attenuates collagen-induced inflammatory response through the “gut-brain axis”

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation, 2018
Background Previous studies have demonstrated that oral administration of curcumin exhibited an anti-arthritic effect despite its poor bioavailability. The present study aimed to explore whether the gut-brain axis is involved in the therapeutic effect of

Native and Engineered Extracellular Vesicles for the Treatment of Acute Lung Injury and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Both native and engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) are served as promising therapeutic agents for treating acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). To circumvent the limitations of native EVs, various engineering strategies are adopted.
