Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Elastic and mechanical properties of Mg3Rh intermetallic compound: An ab initio study
In this work, density functional theory plane-wave pseudo potential method, with local density approximation (LDA) and generalized gradient approximation (GGA) are used to investigate the structural, elastic, mechanical and thermodynamic properties of ...

Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Influence of Boundary Conditions on Damping Properties of Fluid-Saturatedporous Materials
The object of this paper is the analysis of damping properties of elastic porous media filled with a viscous fluid and, in particular, examination of the influence of boundary conditions and material constants of the medium on the effect of damping. The

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Temperature–Mediated Transition From Dyakonov Surface Waves to Surface–Plasmon–Polariton Waves
The propagation of electromagnetic surface waves, guided by the planar interface of a temperature-sensitive isotropic material and a temperature-insensitive uniaxial material, each characterized by a relative permittivity dyadic, was investigated ...

Constant-rate expression of semisolid materials.
In a batch wise constant-rate expression process, a material is compressed at a constant deliquoring rate by increasing the expression pressure. When the pressure reaches a specified, predetermined value, the pressure is held constant until the final equilibrium compression is obtained. In this paper, the constant-rate expression process of homogeneous

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.
