The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008An acoustic damping material for electro-optic material has an adhesive material combined with a ceramic crystalline material such that the acoustic impedance of the combined adhesive material and the ceramic crystalline material is substantially the same as the acoustic impedance of the electro-optic material.

Impact Damping With Granular Materials
Adaptive Structures and Material Systems, 2001Abstract The performance of an impact damper with granular materials in horizontally and vertically vibrating systems is investigated both experimentally and analytically. The motion of the damper is solved by the discrete element method, which is often used in investigations of soil mechanics and powder technology.

Structural damping by granular materials.
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1996Studies on a useful and rarely used damping technique, the filling of cavity components with granular materials, are presented. Experimental studies show regions of maximum damping caused by standing wave formation in the material. The first maximum occurs when the internal dimension of the cavity is equal to one quarter of the longitudinal wavelength.
