Orbiter thermal pressure drop characteristics for shuttle orbiter thermal protection system components: High density tile, low density tile, densified low density tile, and strain isolation pad [PDF]
Pressure drop tests were conducted on available samples of low and high density tile, densified low density tile, and strain isolation pads. The results are presented in terms of pressure drop, material thickness and volume flow rate.

Numerical and Experimental Analysis of the Powder Flow Streams in the Laser Aided Material Deposition Process [PDF]
Axial powder stream concentration between the nozzle end and the deposition point is an important process parameter in the laser aided material deposition process. The powder concentration is greatly influenced by the nozzle geometry in use. This paper

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Physical and Monetary Methods for Estimating the Hidden Trade of Materials
The hidden trade of a material (e.g., aluminum) refers to the trade of that material embedded in final products (e.g., automobiles). There are two methods for estimating the hidden trade amount of materials: (1) the physical method relies on the physical

Plastics materials flow analysis for India
Forecasting material flows is essential for sound policy making on issues relating to waste management. This paper presents the results of the plastics materials flow analysis (MFA) for India. In the recent past, India has witnessed a substantial growth in the consumption of plastics and an increased production of plastic waste. Polyolefins account for

2D granular flows with the $\mu(I)$ rheology and side walls friction: a well balanced multilayer discretization [PDF]
We present here numerical modelling of granular flows with the $\mu(I)$ rheology in confined channels. The contribution is twofold: (i) a model to approximate the Navier-Stokes equations with the $\mu(I)$ rheology through an asymptotic analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Two level homogenization of flows in deforming double porosity media: biot-darcy-brinkman model [PDF]
We present the two-level homogenization of the flow in a deformable double-porous structure described at two characteristic scales: the higher level porosity associated with the mesoscopic structure is constituted by channels in an elastic skeleton which

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
