Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Pyrophillite “Parsovići” – Efficient Material in Heavy Metal Removal

open access: yes, 2019
The present work explored the effectiveness of Parsovići pyrophyllite ore as sorbent material for heavy metals such as Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd and Ni from aqueous solution. The analysis of chemical composition of PIR samples revealed the presence of silica and alumina besides Ca bearing phase; along with FTIR analysis which confirmed presence of hydroxyl groups

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Modified CMK-3 carbon materials for efficient removal of roxarsone

open access: yesApplied Surface Science
Roxarsone adsorption from water using ordered mesoporous carbon CMK-3 (P_CMK-3) and CMK-3 carbon modified with thiourea (TU_CMK-3) or diclofenac (SD_CMK-3) was studied. The adsorption of roxarsone occurred at low pH. The adsorption was fast; in the case of SD_CMK-3 and TU_CMK-3 materials, the adsorption equilibrium was achieved within 2 min, whereas in

Single‐cell DNA methylation profiling: Technologies, computation, and applications in precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...

Research on the relationship between acoustic emission signal and material removal rate during fixed abrasive lapping

open access: yesJin'gangshi yu moliao moju gongcheng, 2017
Due to passivation and wear, fixed abrasive lapping pad needs to be conditioned.Material removal rate is one of the characteristic indexes to judge the condition of the lapping pad.The relationship between acoustic emission signal and material removal ...

Somatostatin receptor 4 (SSTR4) is a tumor suppressor in cutaneous and head & neck squamous cell carcinomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).
