Synthesis of CoFe2O4/Graphene Oxide-Grafted Tetraethylenepentamine for Removal of Cr (VI) from Aqueous Solution

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2022
In this study, amino-functionalized magnetic graphene-based composite TEPA-GO/CoFe2O4 (TGOM) was prepared by a simple one-step hydrothermal reaction and applied to the removal of Cr (VI) from wastewater.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Effect Factor of Arsenite and Arsenate Removal by a Manufactured Material: Activated Carbon-Supported Nano-TiO2

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2020
Carbon substrate-supported nano-TiO2 (a manufactured material) was prepared in this study for arsenic removal. The removal rates of arsenic were evaluated by batch tests under several simulation conditions including pH, ionic strength, and adsorbent ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Research on the Influence of the Material Removal Profile of a Spherical Polishing Tool on the Mid-Spatial Frequency Errors of Optical Surfaces

open access: yesMicromachines
Elastic spherical polishing tools effectively conform to the polishing surface and exhibit high efficiency in the removal of materials, so they are extensively used in the sub-aperture polishing stages of optical components.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Demonstrate the removal efficiency and capacity of MOF materials for krypton recovery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Metal organic framework materials (MOFs) were developed and tested in support of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy, Fuel Cycle Technology Separations and Waste Forms Campaign. Specifically, materials are being developed for the removal of xenon (Xe) and krypton (Kr) from gaseous products of nuclear fuel reprocessing unit operations.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
