The Cinderella tree, Quillaja saponaria – A soap story

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 2, Page 439-451, March 2026.
Our current understanding of plants has been shaped by the entwining of different cultures. The Chilean soapbark tree, traditionally valued as a source of natural soap, was shown by serendipitous research in France in the 1900s to produce compounds that can boost the immune response to vaccines.

Phytochemical diversity of naturally regenerated plants in a biodiversity enrichment experiment

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
Tree islands established within an industrial oil palm plantation promoted the recovery of phytochemical diversity through natural regeneration. Ten years after planting, untargeted metabolomics of 76 regenerating woody species detected 27,122 phytochemical features, including many novel compounds. Larger islands supported higher woody species richness

Continuities in Policies and Turnover Among Actors: Instrument Constituencies in French Primary Care Reforms

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, Volume 12, Issue 1, Winter 2026.
ABSTRACT Over the past decade, the concept of “instrument constituency” has been proposed as a way in which to bridge studies on policy networks and policy instruments. This concept focuses on policy networks composed of diverse actors who are brought together by the shared goal of promoting a specific instrument.
