Energy dissipation of materials at high pressure and high temperature
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2007We report an experimental method to study the anelastic properties of materials at high pressure and high temperature. The multianvil high pressure deformation device, used to apply a cyclic loading force onto the sample, can reach 15GPa and 2000K. A synchrotron x-ray radiation source provides time resolved images of the sample and reference material ...

Materials for Phase Change Material at High Temperature
2018To develop a cost effective and efficient latent thermal energy storage system using phase change material (PCM), selecting a suitable material is very critical. It has to satisfy certain criteria in order to fulfill the requirement of repeated heating and cooling cycles. This chapter describes the basic requirements on a material to be considered as a

Dehydrochlorination of PVC Materials at High Temperature
Energy & Fuels, 2003A relatively large laboratory-scale sample of a commercial type of PVC material usually used in building, flooring, home furnishings, clothing, etc., is thermally decomposed under carefully controlled conditions. Dehydrochlorination of PVC material at high temperature (up to 600 °C) has been studied.

Piezoelectric properties at high temperature in α-quartz materials
Journal de Physique IV (Proceedings), 2005The performances of resonators made of α-quartz and GaPO 4 are compared based on piezoelectric measurements up to 850°C. Up to now, no explanation was available for the observed decrease in piezoelectric performances well below the phase transition temperature in these materials.

Mechanical behavior of masonry materials at high temperatures
Fire and Materials, 2014SummaryAn experimental campaign is presented to determine the effects of high temperatures on the mechanical properties of several materials for masonry walls (blocks and mortars), testing a series of cylindrical specimens (diameter of 100 mm and height of 200 mm).

Materials characterization at high temperatures using laser ultrasound
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1993Abstract A new technique is presented allowing measurement of ultrasonic absorption up to very high temperatures in polycrystalline and other materials exhibiting strong scattering, by generating reverberation fields by short laser pulses, and by observing their decay using optical interferometers for detection.

Tensile Testing of MEMS Materials at High Temperatures
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2006This paper presents three kinds of high-temperature test methods for three different materials along with the results. Resistively heated polysilicon film 3.5 micron thick shows ductile behavior at 500°C. Resistively heated nickel 200 microns thick shows decreasing strength at 400°C.
