Characterization Techniques for Porous Piezoelectric Materials

Ferroelectrics, 2003
The applicability of characterization techniques of ferroelectric dense materials to porous ferroelectric materials has been investigated. In fact nonlinearity effects are highly increased in porous materials, due to the discontinuities at the internal boundaries.

Stepped-waveguide material-characterization technique

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 2004
Electromagnetic material characterization is the process of determining the complex permittivity and permeability of a material. Rectangular-waveguide measurements involving frequencies greater than several gigahertz require only a relatively small test sample.

Structural characterization techniques of materials

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2019
After twentieth century there was a lot of study in the understanding of the microstructure of materials, and it was only possible through the discovery of new techniques for characterization of materials. Today there are number of techniques to characterize samples such as x-ray diffraction, atomic absorption, thermal analysis, electron microscopy ...

SEM techniques for materials characterization

SPIE Proceedings, 1997
The scanning electron microscope (SEM) can be used to study and characterize a wide variety of materials used in photonic applications. These range from highly conductive samples to insulating materials. Several different techniques make use of this versatile tool. These include secondary electron imaging, backscattered electron imaging, X-ray analysis

EM Material Characterization Techniques

2017
It is technology that fixes the use of electromagnetic materials, but again it is science that infers the behaviour of the material. Material’s response towards electromagnetic fields is decided by the displacement of material’s free and bonded electrons by the electric fields in addition to the atomic moment’s orientation by magnetic fields.

Material Growth and Fundamental Material Characterization Techniques

2009
In this chapter we discuss various methods for the synthesis of transition metal oxides (TMOs) and their characterization by different methods targeting their gas sensing application. Amongst the various growth methods used, we deal with pulse laser deposition, sputtering, aqueous chemical growth and spray pyrolysis in more details.

Characterization Techniques for Graphene-Based Materials

2023
Graphene bearing 2D (dimensional) layer of carbon atoms bonded in sp2 hybridized state are only 1 atomic-scale thick. However, the graphene can be extended along the horizontal dimension. The alternate double bonds leading to perfect conjugation with sp2 hybridization are exhibited in the hexagonal structure (honeycomb) of graphene.
