Anharmonic effects in the mixed 4f-electron lattice excitations of Pr skutterudites

Physical Review B, 2011
The structure of Pr skutterudites provides large cages for the anharmonic rattling motion of the rare-earth guest atom. For suitable composition, their frequency may be nearly degenerate with low-energy crystalline electric-field excitations of localized 4$f$ states.

Quasiparticle phonon model description of low-energy states in Pr152

Physical Review C, 2018
Delayed $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray and conversion-electron spectroscopy is performed on $A=152$ fission fragments, at the Lohengrin spectrometer of the Institut Laue-Langevin, providing a new decay scheme for $^{152}\mathrm{Pr}$. The quasiparticle phonon model, combined with the particle-rotor model, which allows octupole correlations and Coriolis ...

Stability of the wobbling motion in an odd-mass nucleus and the analysis of Pr135

Physical Review C, 2017
We apply alternative representations of Holstein-Primakoff boson expansion to the particle-rotor model as useful probes to test the stability and the physical contents of the exact solution. The diagonal representations with the total and single-particle angular momenta along the same axis (longitudinal case) and along two perpendicular axes ...

Unsteady natural convection on an evenly heated vertical plate for Prandtl numberPr<1

Physical Review E, 2005
The transient behavior of the natural convection boundary-layer flow adjacent to a vertical plate heated with a uniform flux in a quiescent homogeneous ambient fluid with Prandtl number ...

Giant hybridization effects in4fphotoemission spectra of Pr and Nd transition-metal compounds

Physical Review B, 2002
Large hybridization effects are observed in $4f$ resonant photoemission spectra of Pr and Nd transition-metal compounds that lead to energy splittings of several eV varying strongly with the composition of the compounds. The phenomena are described quantitatively in the framework of a single-impurity Anderson model.

4fSpin Dynamics of Isolated Nd, Pr, and Ce Ions in Simple Metals

Physical Review Letters, 1982
The $4f$ spin dynamics of extremely dilute Nd, Pr, and Ce ions in liquid metals are microscopically observed by the time-differential perturbed $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray distribution method. The $4f$ spin rates are dominated by strong mixing exchange interaction in all systems investigated, which is, e.g., reflected by a Kondo-like behavior for Nd ...

High-spin states of the semimagic nucleusPr141

Physical Review C, 2015
High-spin states of the semimagic nucleus $^{141}\mathrm{Pr}$ have been investigated by in-beam $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-spectroscopic techniques using the fusion-evaporation $^{138}\mathrm{Ba}(^{7}\mathrm{Li},\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}4n)$ reaction at a beam energy of 38 MeV. The level scheme of $^{141}\mathrm{Pr}$ has been extended up to $\ensuremath{\

Antiferromagnetism inPr3In

Physical Review B, 2005
We present neutron diffraction, magnetic susceptibility and specific heat data for a single-crystal sample of the cubic (${\mathrm{Cu}}_{3}\mathrm{Au}$ structure) compound ${\mathrm{Pr}}_{3}\mathrm{In}$. Antiferromagnetic order occurs below ${T}_{N}=12\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$ with propagation vector $(0,0,0.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi ...
