The structure of mathematical ability
British Journal of Psychology, 1978A ‘mathematics’ test of 69 items was administered to 255 craft and technician students in the 17–19 age range. The item/item correlations were analysed using both a principal components and a maximum‐likelihood method. After varimax rotation, the same structure emerged from both analyses.
