On Mathematical Analysis of Style
Biometrika, 1952Every significant text of a grammatical exposition consists of a certain material, the vocabulary, and some structural properties, the style, of its author. The passive vocabulary is formed by the totality of all words of that language, s, the author writes in, the active vocabulary is formed by a certain set, s', of that totality, the selection of ...

An analysis of mathematical errors in business mathematics
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2018Business Mathematics (MAT112) subject is mainly designed to develop the mathematical knowledge required by the students to encounter the demands of business operations. The course basically provides a compact analysis of the most fundamental and commonly occurring business conditions.

For the second edition of this very successful text, Professor Binmore has written two chapters on analysis in vector spaces. The discussion extends to the notion of the derivative of a vector function as a matrix and the use of second derivatives in classifying stationary points.

The purpose of the volume is to provide a support for a first course in Mathematics. The contents are organised to appeal especially to Engineering, Physics and Computer Science students, all areas in which mathematical tools play a crucial role. Basic notions and methods of differential and integral calculus for functions of one real variable are ...

Mathematical Analysis of Cardiovascular Function
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1985This paper identifies several published models of cardiovascular function, and attempts to analyze them in terms of the physiological processes which are embedded in their structure. It appears that representative models have increased in size and complexity in direct proportion to increases in the power and suitability of available computing machinery.
