Tunable Thermoshrinkable Hydrogels for 4D Fabrication of Cell‐Seeded Channels
A thermoresponsive polymer with methacrylate groups for photo‐cross‐linking, based on polyethylene glycol, N‐isopropylacrylamide, and 2‐hydroxyethyl acrylate is synthetized to yield hydrogels that shrink upon temperature increase. The new polymer enables the fabrication of cell‐laden perfusable channels with diameters below 200 µm by combining ...

MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

The Infinite Principle: The Mathematics of Optimism
This paper introduces the infinite principle: a mathematical framework proving that optimism is the rational choice when comparing bounded and unbounded outcomes. Rooted in expected value theory, the principle demonstrates that any option with unbounded upside mathematically dominates alternatives with bounded outcomes, provided the downside is finite ...

Mathematical Optimalization of Data Channels
The cognitive radio channel allocation is envisioned to solve the challenge of electromagnetic spectrum scarcity focusing on radio frequency’s data networking in the ever-changing radio environment. Dynamic electromagnetic spectrum management is crucial to avoid decreasing the bit rate and allocate the appropriate channel power in cognitive radio ...

From a database of 170 pentagonal 2D materials, 4 candidates exhibiting altermagnetic ordering are screened. Furthermore, the spin‐splitting and unconventional boundary states in the pentagonal 2D altermagnetic monolayer MnS2 are investigated. A MnS2‐based altermagnetic tunneling junction is designed and, through ab initio quantum transport simulations,

Aspects of mathematical modelling related to optimization
Abstract Many practical optimization problems involved mathematical models of complex real-world phenomena. This paper discusses some aspects of modelling that influence the performance of optimization methods. Information and advice are given concerning the construction of smooth models, the transformation of an optimization problem from one ...
