Mathematical Models and Formal Approaches for Caching Strategies Optimisation [PDF]
An optimization of caching strategies is proposed as a formal approach allowing us a more efficient use of two-level computer memory. This approach is based on a set of mathematical models and a set of theorems, permitting analytical determination of optimal caching strategy operating characteristics, thus minimising time loss caused by optimal ...

Silver nanowire‐decorated silicon nanomembrane (AgNW‐SiNM) wireless wearable gas sensor exhibits a high response of ≈1.83 upon exposure to 10 ppm NH3. A stacked structure of the AgNW‐SiNM gas sensor with a flexible Joule heater improves the recovery rate after gas exposure.

A new class of smoothing methods for mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints [PDF]
A class of smoothing methods is proposed for solving mathematical programs with equimibrium constraints. We introduce new and very simple regularizations of the complementarity constraints. Some estimate distance to optimal solution and expansions of the optimal value function are presented.

Augmented Slepians: Bandlimited Functions that Counterbalance Energy in Selected Intervals
Slepian functions provide a solution to the optimization problem of joint time-frequency localization. Here, this concept is extended by using a generalized optimization criterion that favors energy concentration in one interval while penalizing energy ...

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.
