Modelling and Optimizing Mathematics Learning in Children

International Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education, 2013
This study introduces a student model and control algorithm, optimizing mathematics learning in children. The adaptive system is integrated into a computer-based training system for enhancing numerical cognition aimed at children with developmental dyscalculia or difficulties in learning mathematics.

MOPS — Mathematical optimization system

European Journal of Operational Research, 1994
Abstract This paper discusses a software system for solving large scale linear and mixed-integer optimization models. The system in its present form is the result of several years of research and development. The first functional version of MOPS was completed 1987 for the IBM 6150 (a predecessor of the RS/6000) under AIX.

Optimization of constrained mathematical and engineering design problems using chaos game optimization

Computers & industrial engineering, 2020
In the past few decades, many different metaheuristic algorithms have been developed for optimization purposes each of which have specific advantages and disadvantages due to multiple applications in different optimization fields.

Optimality conditions in mathematical programming and composite optimization

Mathematical Programming, 1994
In a very clear manner and with all important proofs new second-order necessary optimality conditions are derived for the problems \(({\mathcal M})\): \(j(x)\to \inf\), s.t. \(x\in B\cap k^{- 1}(C)\), and \(({\mathcal C})\): \(f(x):= g(h(x))\to \inf\), s.t.

Input optimization: I. Optimal realizations of mathematical models

Mathematical Programming, 1985
Input optimization is a conceptually new level of optimization, at which the mathematical programming model, rather than a usual program, is optimized. This is achieved by optimizing the optimal value function by stable perturbations of the parameters considered as ''input''.

LLaDA 1.5: Variance-Reduced Preference Optimization for Large Language Diffusion Models

arXiv.org
While Masked Diffusion Models (MDMs), such as LLaDA, present a promising paradigm for language modeling, there has been relatively little effort in aligning these models with human preferences via reinforcement learning.

Mathematical Optimization Techniques

2011
The objectives of this chapter are: Explaining some optimization techniques. Explaining the minimum norm theorem and how it could be used as an optimization algorithm, where a set of equations can be obtained. Introducing the fuzzy system as an optimization technique.
