Observability in problems of mathematical physics

open access: yesIzvestiya MGTU MAMI, 2012
Attention is drawn to the importance of the observation principle in the physical Sciences, which means that hypothesis and theory should be formulated in terms of observable nature values. Experiment and practice, not the opinions of authorities, are criteria of truth. Forgetting this leads to big, but ineffectual material expenses.

Oxygen Supply of Islets of Langerhans by Photosynthetically Active Microalgae in Bioprinted Co‐Cultures Maintains Their Function in a Hypoxic Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.

Nonlocal Conduction in a Metawire

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A 1D metawire composed of twisted copper wires is designed and realized. This metamaterial exhibits pronounced effects of nonlocal electric conduction according to Ohm's law. The current at one location not only depends on the electric field at that location but also on other locations.

Cross-constrained problems for nonlinear Schrodinger equation with harmonic potential

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2012
This article studies a nonlinear Schodinger equation with harmonic potential by constructing different cross-constrained problems. By comparing the different cross-constrained problems, we derive different sharp criterion and different invariant ...

Counterintuitive Fluorescence Blue Shift in Symmetry Breaking Dicationic Bis(indolium) with Two‐Photon Absorption Properties for NIR Living Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.

On an Ambrosetti-Prodi Type Problem with Applications in Modeling Real Phenomena

open access: yesMathematics
This work presents a solving method for problems of Ambrosetti-Prodi type involving p-Laplacian and p-pseudo-Laplacian operators by using adequate variational methods. A variant of the mountain pass theorem, together with a kind of Palais-Smale condition,

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...
