Continuity properties in constructive mathematics

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1992
AbstractThe purpose of this paper is an axiomatic study of the interrelations between certain continuity properties. We deal with principles which are equivalent to the statements “every mapping is sequentially nondiscontinuous”, “every sequentially nondiscontinuous mapping is sequentially continuous”, and “every sequentially continuous mapping is ...

Mathematical properties of System Readiness Levels

Systems Engineering, 2012
Abstract Systems engineers need quantifiable metrics for measuring the readiness of a system. The recently developed System Readiness Level ( SRL ) is such a metric. SRL is a function of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Integration

Wavelets and their Mathematical Properties

2004
In this chapter we concentrate on the mathematical properties of wavelets, but still with more weight on an intuitive understanding than on technical details.

A Mathematical Property of Dirac Plane Waves

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1971
From Dirac plane waves, we can define a gij, Γjki, and eαi. It is found that Dirac plane waves satisfy, in addition to the Dirac equation, a set of nonlinear field equations involving these quantities. General eαi plane waves do not satisfy these equations.

Some mathematical properties of simulation models

ACM SIGSIM Simulation Digest, 1977
A mathematical style of description of simulation models is introduced by using the formalism of system theory. Discrete event simulation models which use pseudorandom number generators are regarded as abstract objects described by a family of input-output time-functions and are proved to hold the property of aggregates.

A Note on the Mathematical Properties of the Boltzmann Equation

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1963
The problem of the uniqueness of solutions of the Boltzmann equation is studied. It is shown that if the kernel possesses certain symmetry properties (which it usually does in the absence of magnetic fields) the equation can be reduced to a form which is non-singular in an algebraic sense, and therefore has a unique solution.
