Consciousness is a central issue in neuroscience, however, we still lack a formal framework that can address the nature of the relationship between consciousness and its physical substrates.

Categories without structures [PDF]
The popular view according to which Category theory provides a support for Mathematical Structuralism is erroneous. Category-theoretic foundations of mathematics require a different philosophy of mathematics.

We define the notion of an infinitely generated tilting object of infinite homological dimension in an abelian category. A one-to-one correspondence between $\infty$-tilting objects in complete, cocomplete abelian categories with an injective cogenerator

Summary Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves is investigated through feedforward and recurrent neural networks as well as dynamic mode decomposition. The goal is to predict future ship motion variables based on past data collected on the field, using equation‐free approaches.

Some problems in mathematics and mathematical physics [PDF]
We discuss new approaches to fundamental problems of mathematics and mathematical physics such as mathematical foundation of quantum field theory, the Riemann hypothesis, and construction of noncommutative algebraic geometry.

Category theory : definitions and examples [PDF]
Category theory was invented as an abstract language for describing certain structures and constructions which repeatedly occur in many branches of mathematics, such as topology, algebra, and logic.

Consciousness is a central issue in cognitive neuroscience. To explain the relationship between consciousness and its neural correlates, various theories have been proposed. We still lack a formal framework that can address the nature of the relationship

Mucus Physically Restricts Influenza A Viral Particle Access to the Epithelium
The infectious potential of respiratory viruses depends on their ability to navigate through a layer of mucus that serves as a protective barrier in the lung. It is demonstrated that influenza A virus penetration through mucus is significantly limited by the gel's internal microstructure and, to a lesser extent, by adhesive binding to mucin glycans ...

ASPECTS OF GLOBULAR HIGHER CATEGORY THEORY
The thesis is in the field of higher category theory, a new branch of mathematics which emerged over the last 20 years from the demands of several seemingly distinct areas such as mathematical physics, computer science, mathematical logic and algebraic ...

The relationship between proteome size, amino acid composition, and lifespan across 276 vertebrate species is investigated. Proteome size correlates positively with lifespan in mammals but negatively in birds and fish. While proteome composition varies among classes, no single amino acid frequency correlates with lifespan.
