Functional Equations in Mathematical Analysis
2012Abstract We prove stability results for a family of functional equations. Keywords Functional equation • Stability Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): Primary 39B82 1.1 Introduction This paper deals with the stability properties of functional equations which are jointgeneralizations of some classical equations (e.g., of Cauchy, Jensen, d’Alembert,

A “Bouquet” of Discontinuous Functions for Beginners in Mathematical Analysis
The American Mathematical Monthly, 2011We present a selection of a few discontinuous functions and we discuss some pedagogical advantages of using such functions in order to illustrate some basic concepts of mathematical analysis to beg...

Integrative Mathematical Modeling for Analysis of Microcirculatory Function
2006The microcirculatory vascular tone and the regional blood flow are regulated by an elaborate network of intracellular and extracellular signaling pathways with multiple feedback control loops. This complicates interpretation of experimental data and limits our ability to design appropriate interventions.

Positive Definite Functions as an Instrument of Mathematical Analysis
Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2014Some applications of positive definite functions are outlined with proofs given for some. Among these is the von Neumann inequality for contractions on a Hilbert space, the prime number theorem, Hermitian elements in Banach algebras and functions on locally compact abelian groups with positive definite extensions.

Functional sensitivity analysis of mathematical models
2005When real dynamical systems or processes are modelled using ordinary differential equations, the question arises of gauging the sensitivity of predictions derived from the model to possible perturbations in various uncertain or assumed expressions or functions which appear in the differential equations. Often, for example, various terms will be assumed

The analysis of mathematical models functioning call center
International Conference and Seminar of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices, 2012The Analysis is executed on the basis of the theory of systems of mass service. Formulas for calculation and comparisons of key parameters of functioning of the Call-center are received. With use of the data of system of monitoring and diagnostics schedules of dependence of an average waiting time of service from number of operators are constructed in ...

Conceptual Design, Functional Decomposition, Mathematical Modelling, and Perturbation Analysis
2000Conceptual Design methods place some intermediate solution steps between problem definition and final technical solution. Functional Decomposition is such a method which aims at finding solution concepts in terms of functions first and, after that, technical realisations for the individual functions. The role of mathematical models in conceptual design
