Linearization routines for the parameter space concept to determine crystal structures without Fourier inversion

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
Novel linearization routines within the parameter space concept (PSC) provide an alternative approach to determine one‐dimensionally projected crystal structures from a few diffraction intensities of standard Bragg reflections, represented by piecewise analytic hyper‐surfaces, without the use of Fourier inversion.

Cs4Ca[Si8O19]: a new mixed tetrahedral–octahedral oxosilicate, its topological features and comparison with other interrupted framework silicates

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of the mixed tetrahedral–octahedral framework silicate Cs4Ca[Si8O19] has been solved. A topological analysis of the present compound and other interrupted framework silicates is presented.Single crystals of a previously unknown caesium calcium silicate with the composition Ca4Ca[Si8O19] have been obtained during a systematic study

Physical analysis and inverse methods applied to archaeological FIRE replications on ATACAMA desert soils, northern Chile

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 67, Issue 3, Page 625-641, June 2025.
Abstract Physical analysis of in situ fire experiments on soils are useful for the estimation of subsurface thermal diffusivity, which is affected by factors such as water, heterogeneity and heating conditions. To address the uncertainties due to these factors, a new data‐processing procedure based on inverse methods was developed and experimentally ...

New perspectives on body size and shape evolution in dinosaurs

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diversity in the body shapes and sizes of dinosaurs was foundational to their widespread success during the Mesozoic era. The ability to quantify body size and form reliably is therefore critical to the study of dinosaur biology and evolution.

A unified multi‐scale method for simulating immersed bubbles

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We introduce a novel unified mixture‐based method for simulating underwater bubbles across a range of bubble scales. Our approach represents bubbles as a set of Lagrangian particles that are coupled with the surrounding Eulerian water volume. When bubble particles are sparsely distributed, each particle, typically smaller than the liquid grid ...
