The Evolution of Hutchinsonian Climatic Niche Hypervolumes in Gymnosperms

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Biogeography, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The niche is a fundamental concept in theoretical and experimental ecology and is used to describe a wide range of ecological processes from species' interactions with the environment to community assemblies. A common way to represent the niche is through a multidimensional geometry known as the Hutchinsonian niche hypervolume.

Bridging the Divide: How Relationship‐Focused Leadership Shapes Creativity in Teams Experiencing Subgrouping

open access: yesJournal of Applied Social Psychology, Volume 56, Issue 6, Page 475-492, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Team creativity is central to organizational success and relies on the open exchange and integration of diverse ideas, a process known as information elaboration. Yet, the differences members naturally bring to their team can sometimes impair effective team functioning and hinder creativity.

A Homology‐Based Application to Diagnose Colorectal Adenoma and Early‐Stage Cancer

open access: yesPathology International, Volume 76, Issue 6, June 2026.
Homology is a mathematical concept involving two Betti numbers (b0 and b1), which can be used to quantify the contact degree. In this study, we developed the homology‐based method using Betti numbers and showed that our method can be useful for distinguishing high‐grade adenoma and early‐stage cancer from normal tissue, as well as advanced colorectal ...

Legume genome structures and histories inferred from Cercis canadensis and Chamaecrista fasciculata genomes

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 5, June 2026.
SUMMARY The legume family originated ca. 60–65 million years ago and soon diversified into at least six lineages (now extant subfamilies). The signal of whole genome duplications (WGD) is apparent in species sampled from all six subfamilies. The early diversification has posed difficulties for resolving the legume backbone structure and the timing of ...

The singularity category and duality for complete intersection groups

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract If G$G$ is a finite group, the structure of the modular representation theory depends on the cochains C∗(BG;k)$C^*(BG; k)$, viewed as a commutative ring spectrum. We consider here its singularity category (in the sense of the author and Stevenson [Adv. Math.

Homology theory of submersions

open access: yes
In this dissertation we construct a homology theory on the category of submersions which generalizes the homology of the base space with coefficients in the homology of the fiber as given by the E²-terms of the Serre spectral sequence of a fiber bundle ...

Rickard's derived Morita theory: Review and outlook

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract We survey the main results in Jeremy Rickard's seminal papers ‘Morita theory for derived categories’ and ‘Derived equivalences and derived functors’. These papers catalysed the later development of the Morita theory of (enhanced) compactly generated triangulated categories by Keller in the algebraic setting and by Schwede and Shipley in the ...

Primitivity testing in free group algebras via duality

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Let K$K$ be a field and F$F$ a free group. By a classical result of Cohn and Lewin, the free group algebra KF$K\left[F\right]$ is a free ideal ring (FIR): a ring over which the submodules of free modules are themselves free, and of a well‐defined rank. Given a finitely generated right ideal I⩽KF$I\leqslant K\left[F\right]$ and an element f∈I$f\

Isotopy and equivalence of knots in 3‐manifolds

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Two knots K$K$ and J$J$ in S3$S^3$ are isotopic if and only if they are related by an orientation‐preserving diffeomorphism of S3$S^3$. This claim follows from the fact that any orientation‐preserving self‐diffeomorphism of S3$S^3$ is isotopic to the identity. We show that this same idea applies to any prime oriented closed 3‐manifold.
