Topology and curvature of metric spaces [PDF]
We develop a new concept of non-positive curvature for metric spaces, based on intersection patterns of closed balls. In contrast to the synthetic approaches of Alexandrov and Buesemann, our concept also applies to metric spaces that might be discrete ...

The Kähler geometry of Bott manifolds [PDF]
We study the K\"ahler geometry of stage n Bott manifolds, which can be viewed as $n$-dimensional generalizations of Hirzebruch surfaces. We show, using a simple induction argument and the generalized Calabi construction from [ACGT04,ACGT11], that any ...

Metric Entropy of Homogeneous Spaces
For a (compact) subset $K$ of a metric space and $\varepsilon > 0$, the {\em covering number} $N(K , \varepsilon )$ is defined as the smallest number of balls of radius $\varepsilon$ whose union covers $K$.

The paper deals with issues of the metric geometry basics. In particular, the concept of rectilinear placement of points is considered, based on the axioms of the distance between two points of metric space.

Geometric Meanings of Curvatures in Finsler Geometry [PDF]
In Finsler geometry, we use calculus to study the geometry of regular inner metric spaces. In this note I will briefly discuss various curvatures and their geometric meanings from the metric geometry point of view, without going into the forest of ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

A Coding Theoretic Study on MLL proof nets
Coding theory is very useful for real world applications. A notable example is digital television. Basically, coding theory is to study a way of detecting and/or correcting data that may be true or false. Moreover coding theory is an area of mathematics,

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.
