Probability & incompressible Navier-Stokes equations: An overview of some recent developments

open access: yes, 2005
This is largely an attempt to provide probabilists some orientation to an important class of non-linear partial differential equations in applied mathematics, the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.

Imiquimod‐Loaded Phospholipid‐Free Small Unilamellar Vesicles Activate the Tumor Immune Microenvironment to Treat Liver Cancer and Liver Metastases

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Imiquimod‐loaded nanoparticles (PFSUV‐IMQ) are found to decrease liver metastasis and liver tumor burden when administered intravenously. Flow cytometry, RNA‐seq and various experiments show that the anti‐tumor response is immune‐mediated by activating dendritic cells resulting in increased CD8 T cell infiltration and activity.

Research on the reasoning, teaching and learning of probability and uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this editorial, we set out the aims in the call to publish papers on informal statistical inference, randomness, modelling and risk. We discuss how the papers published in this issue have responded to those aims.

Mod-phi convergence I: Normality zones and precise deviations

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we use the framework of mod-$\phi$ convergence to prove precise large or moderate deviations for quite general sequences of real valued random variables $(X_{n})_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$, which can be lattice or non-lattice distributed.

Computational Modeling of Reticular Materials: The Past, the Present, and the Future

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Reticular materials are advanced materials with applications in emerging technologies. A thorough understanding of material properties at operating conditions is critical to accelerate the deployment at an industrial scale. Herein, the status of computational modeling of reticular materials is reviewed, supplemented with topical examples highlighting ...

Glaphene: A Hybridization of 2D Silica Glass and Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
‘Glaphene’, a novel hybrid material combining 2D silica glass and graphene, is synthesized via a scalable liquid precursor‐based vapor‐phase growth. This study reveals interlayer hybridization beyond van der Waals interactions, leading to emergent semiconducting behavior.

Bioxolography Using Diphenyliodonium Chloride and N‐Vinylpyrrolidone Enables Rapid High‐Resolution Volumetric 3D Printing of Spatially Encoded Living Matter

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioxolography, a novel volumetric 3D‐bioprinting technique, enables rapid and high‐resolution fabrication of >1 cm3 engineered living materials. A newly developed three‐component photoinitiator system significantly enhances the photoreactivity of gelatin methacryloyl‐based bioresins, allowing for precise xolographic bioprinting.
