Impact of Positive Lifestyle Behaviors on Direct Health Care Cost Savings for Low Back Pain
Objective This study aimed to investigate the relationship between a previously purpose‐developed lifestyle behavior scale and health care cost savings related to low back pain (LBP). Methods This longitudinal study used data from the Australian Twin Back (AUTBACK) study. LBP and lifestyle behavior measures were collected at baseline. Physical activity

The study of mating is one of the most active areas in evolutionary ecology. What fuels this research is curiosity about a stunning diversity of ways in which zygotes are formed. Many plants and some animals can reproduce without combining gametes. Many other plants combine gametes but do so within the same individual (selfing).

Most vertebrates, including all mammals and birds, are sexually reproducing organisms. The implication of sexual reproduction is that an adult bird exists because a male transferred sperm to the reproductive tract of a female during copulation, one of the sperm fertilized an egg, and the ensuing embryo developed into an individual male or female that ...

AbstractPatterns of mating vary with the reproductive biology and spatial structure of a species, and combine to influence levels and dynamics of genetic diversity. Knowledge of all aspects of a species' mating system is necessary to understand the distribution of genetic variation between individuals, gene flow within and between populations, what ...

Abstract Defining a population mating strategy has inherent problems. All individuals are of different quality and face unique conditions during reproduction. Thus, the costs and benefits for specific individuals must be considered when examining their mating arrangement.
