Magnetic Field Control Using an Electromagnetic Actuation System with Combined Air‐Core and Metal‐Core Coils

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
An electromagnetic manipulation system enhances magnetic field strength in the Z‐direction for 3D control of microrobots and nanoparticles. Featuring eight metal‐core coils and two air‐core coils arranged hemispherically, it ensures unimpeded workspace access and integrates imaging tools.

SuperResNET: Model‐Free Single‐Molecule Network Analysis Software Achieves Molecular Resolution of Nup96

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
SuperResNET is a powerful integrated software that reconstructs network architecture and molecular distribution of subcellular structures from single molecule localization microscopy datasets. SuperResNET segments the nuclear pore complex and corners, extracts size, shape, and network features of all segmented nuclear pores and uses modularity analysis

Histogram-based quantitative grading on ultrasonographic images of a fatty liver

open access: yesGazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi, 2020
An abnormal fat accumulation in the liver can damage the liver cells and cause liver diseases. If the fat accumulation in the liver is diagnosed in the early stages; the functional abnormalities associated with fatty liver can be revealed and the ...

Cytoflow: User‐Friendly Python Software for Computational Flow Cytometry

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Modern flow cytometry experiments routinely measure 18 or more fluorescent markers across many samples, patients, and tissues. As these experiments' complexity increases, manual gating becomes unacceptably inefficient and can introduce operator‐to‐operator variation. Computational cytometry algorithms such as unsupervised clustering, automated

Using MATLAB GUIs to Improve Student Engagement and Understanding [PDF]

open access: yes2018 UKACC 12th International Conference on Control (CONTROL), 2018
Laboratories are a core part of any engineering degree, but access to laboratories is typically limited due to a combination of timetable, space and equipment restrictions [1]. In more recent years that has been a significant growth in so-called virtual laboratories (VL), that is laboratory like activities that can be accessed via software or even a ...

An algorithm for seizure detection in rodents

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Epilepsy animal research often relies on long‐term intracranial electroencephalographic (iEEG) recordings. Here, we describe an artificial neural network (ANN) algorithm for automatic detection of seizures. Methods The algorithm was trained on iEEG recordings of three mouse models of chronic epilepsy: (1) the pilocarpine model of ...
