Matric potential-based irrigation management of field-grown strawberry: Effects on yield and water use efficiency

open access: yes, 2015
Effective and adapted criteria for irrigation scheduling are required to improve yield and water use efficiency (WUE) and reduce the environmental impacts associated with water and nutrients losses by runoff and leaching.

Effect of bio‐fertilization and edapho‐climatic conditions on chickpea nodulation, grain yields, and seed protein in a Mediterranean context: a meta‐analysis approach

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Chickpeas (Cicer arietinum L.) serve as a protein‐rich staple, particularly in Mediterranean countries, where they are often grown in marginal and water‐stressed areas. This meta‐analysis synthesized evidence from peer‐reviewed publications across Mediterranean countries to assess how chickpea rhizobial inoculation influences chickpea ...

Biochar‐Induced Shifts in Fungal Community Structure and Their Association With Soil Physical Properties in Degraded Soil From the Brazilian Semiarid

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil degradation compromises ecosystem functioning. Biochar, a carbon‐rich amendment, has gained attention as a promising strategy to enhance soil structure and restore microbial balance. This study investigated the effects of two biochars, cashew bagasse biochar (CBB) and a co‐pyrolyzed biochar produced from sewage sludge and cashew pruning ...

Matric Potential and Overburden Potential in Gels for Plant Tissue Culture.

open access: yesEnvironment Control in Biology, 1999

Soil and Forest Degradation Driven by Cattle Grazing and Selective Logging in Sub‐Antarctic Nothofagus Ecosystems of Patagonia

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil and forest degradation driven by chronic land‐use pressures is an increasingly widespread process in forested landscapes worldwide, yet its empirical characterization remains limited, particularly in temperate and sub‐Antarctic ecosystems.

Drought Responses in Three Apple Cultivars Using an Autonomous Sensor-based Irrigation System

open access: yesHortScience
Irrigation decision support systems evolving in the domestic temperate tree fruit production industry incorporate measures of soil moisture status, which diverges from classic physiological indicators of edaphic stress.

Transfer matrices for piecewise constant potentials

open access: yes, 2006
By expressing the time-independent Schrodinger equation in one dimension as a system of two first-order differential equations, the transfer matrix for a rectangular potential barrier is obtained making use of the matrix exponential. It is shown that the transfer matrix allows one to find the bound states and the quasinormal modes.

Biobased Epoxidized Castor Oil Covalent Adaptable Networks Adhesives Reinforced with Recycled Carbon Fibers

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
It is reported the design of biobased sustainable, smart, and functional adhesives achieved dispersing recycled carbon fibers into biobased epoxy monomer. ABSTRACT The development of sustainable, smart, and functional adhesives is crucial in advancing environmentally friendly materials.
