Uncovering the Key Factors Influencing Phytochemical and Phytopharmacological Properties During Medicinal Plant Processing

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 1, February 2026.
From farm to pharma, this review details the engineering of quality in medicinal plants through a science‐driven approach: it first elucidates how genetic and environmental factors inscribe the plant's phytochemical and phytopharmacological profile before harvest, and then dissects the postharvest techniques and technologies—chemical and thermal pre ...

Electrospun Composite Lavandula Angustifolia Mill. Extract/PVP Nanofibers

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study presents novel fast‐dissolving nanofibers electrospun from polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) loaded with crude lavender extract. The fibers form an amorphous solid dispersion, disintegrate within 1.5 s, and release 70%–90% of their payload within 5 min, significantly outperforming the pure extract.

Synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Matricaria recutita (Babunah) plant extract and its study as mercury ions sensor

open access: yesSensing and Bio-Sensing Research, 2017
Silver (Ag) nanoparticles comprise a highly selective approach for development of nanosensors for the detection of Hg2+ ions. When Ag nanoparticles mixes with Hg2+ ions, loses its UV–Vis absorption intensity. Here, green synthesis of Ag nanoparticles was

Local sensitivity analysis of a supercritical extraction model

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 1, Page 312-327, January 2026.
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from chamomile flowers. A parameter‐distributed model, consisting of a set of partial differential equations, was used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena between solid and fluid phases under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as the solvent.

Vanillin Modulates the Sedative Effect of Diazepam, Possibly Through GABAergic Interaction Pathways in Thiopental Sodium‐Induced Sleeping Mice

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 220-232, January 2026.
Vanillin showed moderate sedative and modulatory synergistic activities on diazepam in thiopental sodium‐induced sleeping mice. These effects are implicated with GABAergic intervention. ABSTRACT Insomnia is a common sleep disorder affecting approximately 10% of adults.
