Sortar av kamille vart prøvd ut i tre år ved Planteforsk Kise. Kamille kjem frå Middelhavsområdet. Arten er ein av dei eldste medisinplantene, men blir også brukt i kosmetikk og som te. Kamille høyrer til korgplantefamilien og er eittårig. Det er blomsten som er av interesse og vert nytta til dei ulike produkt som blir laga av kamille.
