Acute toxicity of nitrite to matrinxã, Brycon cephalus (Günther, 1869), (Teleostei-Characidae) [PDF]
Nitrite leads to many physiological and hematological disturbances followed by lethality. This work reports the lethal concentration of nitrite to juvenile matrinxã. Experiments were done at 24ºC, pH 6.7-7.0 under natural photoperiod.

Abstract For the evaluation of the effects of the transport density of pirarucu juveniles, 210 juvenile pirarucus, Arapaima gigas (488 ± 26.5 g) were randomly distributed in 12 plastic boxes at transport densities of 98, 146, 195, and 244 g L−1. The transport was carried out on a paved highway for 4 h, and at the end of the transport, all were returned

Aflatoxin contamination of feeds poses a significant threat to aquaculture. This six‐week study was conducted to evaluate the impact of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) in diets with and without supplemental arginine (Arg) on the production performance, somatic indices, body composition, and immune responses of hybrid striped bass (HSB). Six experimental diets were

Acute fluoxetine treatment increases aggressiveness in juvenile matrinxã (Brycon amazonicus) [PDF]
Fluoxetine (FLX) is a selective serotonin (5-HT) reuptake inhibitor known for its effects modifying aggressiveness, personality traits, and anxiety-like behaviors. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the influence of the acute treatment, by immersion, with FLX on aggressive behavior of resident Brycon amazonicus fish.

Less feed does not mean lower growth: The impact of feeding frequency on fishes reared in BFT enriched with sodium chloride [PDF]
The objective of this work was to analyze the impact of different feeding frequencies on the growth and hematological parameters of freshwater fish species (tambaqui, Colossoma macropomum; matrinxã, Brycon amazonicus) subjected to biofloc technology ...

Probiótico na larvicultura de matrinxã, Brycon amazonicus
Brycon amazonicus larvae fed with probiotic consisting of Bacillus subtilis, bioencapsulated in Artemia salina at different doses. Six treatments were used: T 0 = control (without probiotic), T 2.5 = 2.5 g, T 5.0 = 5.0 g, T 7.5 = 7.5 g, T 10.0 = 10.0 g and T 12;5 = 12.5 g per liter of probiotic when fed with A.
