Minimal Rank Decoupling of Full-Lattice CMV Operators with Scalar- and Matrix-Valued Verblunsky Coefficients [PDF]
Relations between half- and full-lattice CMV operators with scalar- and matrix-valued Verblunsky coefficients are investigated. In particular, the decoupling of full-lattice CMV operators into a direct sum of two half-lattice CMV operators by a ...

Abstract Global energy demand and environmental concerns have intensified the search for renewable and sustainable energy sources. This study thus, focuses on optimizing the transesterification process of waste cooking oil (WCO) using thermally activated basic oxygen furnace slag catalyst calcined at 850°C (BOF 850). The optimization and modelling were

Self‐Similar Blowup for the Cubic Schrödinger Equation
ABSTRACT We give a rigorous proof for the existence of a finite‐energy, self‐similar solution to the focusing cubic Schrödinger equation in three spatial dimensions. The proof is computer‐assisted and relies on a fixed point argument that shows the existence of a solution in the vicinity of a numerically constructed approximation.

ABSTRACT The leading‐order asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Cauchy initial‐value problem for the Benjamin–Ono equation in L2(R)$L^2(\mathbb {R})$ is obtained explicitly for generic rational initial data u0$u_0$. An explicit asymptotic wave profile uZD(t,x;ε)$u^\mathrm{ZD}(t,x;\epsilon)$ is given, in terms of the branches of the multivalued ...

Matrix-valued orthogonal polynomials on \mathbb{R}
Certain families of semi-classical orthogonal polynomials are intimately related to the Toda lattice equations. In some cases there are also connections between these polynomials with some Painlevé equations. It is possible to obtain information about the asymptotic behavior of orthogonal polynomials by reformulating concepts in terms of a Riemann ...

ABSTRACT Iterative solvers are advantageous for handling nonlinear structural analysis problems. The iterative solvers often require updating the stiffness matrix, which limits their application in static and pseudo‐dynamic hybrid simulations because: (1) updating the stiffness matrix of a system involving a physical specimen is challenging; (2 ...

Matrix-valued orthogonal polynomials on the real line: some extensions of the classical theory [PDF]
The present paper is devoted to the discussion of orthogonal polynomials on the real line in the matrix setting. An analogue of the determinant definition of orthogonal polynomials is introduced and classical properties such as recurrence relations, kernel polynomials and the Christoffel-Darboux formula are analyzed.

Explicit construction of matrix-valued orthogonal polynomials of arbitrary size
In this paper, we explicitly provide expressions for a sequence of orthogonal polynomials associated with a weight matrix of size N , constructed from a collection of scalar weights w_{1}, \ldots, w_{N} of the form

Local Polynomial Regression and Filtering for a Versatile Mesh‐Free PDE Solver
A high‐order, mesh‐free finite difference method for solving differential equations is presented. Both derivative approximation and scheme stabilisation is carried out by parametric or non‐parametric local polynomial regression, making the resulting numerical method accurate, simple and versatile. Numerous numerical benchmark tests are investigated for
