Ex-ante appraisal of agricultural policy needs a transparent way to trace how sectoral interventions translate into production. We study the Polish CAP case and ask how much selected actions matter for livestock sectors.

ASTRA: Transition-density-matrix approach to molecular ionization
We describe astra (attosecond transitions), a close-coupling approach to molecular ionization that uses many-body transition-density matrices between ionic states with arbitrary spin and symmetry, in combination with hybrid integrals between Gaussian and

Scattering in Geometric Approach to Quantum Theory
We define inclusive scattering matrix in the framework of a geometric approach to quantum field theory. We review the definitions of scattering theory in the algebraic approach and relate them to the definitions in the geometric approach.

The Matrix Approach for Abstract Argumentation Frameworks [PDF]
Matrices and the operation of dual interchange are introduced into the study of Dung’s argumentation frameworks. It is showed that every argumentation framework can be represented by a matrix, and the basic extensions (such as admissible, stable, complete) can be determined by sub-blocks of its matrix.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Matrix approach to the fractional calculus
In this paper, we introduce the new construction of fractional derivatives and integrals with respect to a function, based on a matrix approach. We believe that this is a powerful tool in both analytical and numerical calculations. We begin with the differential operator with respect to a function that generates a semigroup.

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

The information matrix test with bootstrap-based covariance matrix estimation. [PDF]
We propose an information matrix test in which the covariance matrix of the vector of indicators is estimated using the parametric bootstrap. Monte Carlo results and heuristic arguments show that its small sample performance is comparable with that of ...

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

A feed forward neural network approach for matrix computations [PDF]
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.A new neural network approach for performing matrix computations is presented. The idea of this approach is to construct a feed-forward neural network (FNN)
