Magnetic anisotropy of $Co_x Pt_{1-x}$ clusters embedded in matrix: Influences of the cluster chemical composition and the matrix nature [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We report on the magnetic properties of Co$\_x$Pt$\_{1-x}$ clusters embedded in various matrices. Using a careful analysis of magnetization curves and ZFC susceptibility measurements, we determine the clusters magnetic anisotropy energy (MAE) and separate the surface and volume contributions. By comparing different chemical compositions, we show that a

Elucidating prognostic significance of purine metabolism in colorectal cancer through integrating data from transcriptomic, immunohistochemical, and single‐cell RNA sequencing analysis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.

Upgrading Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical Properties of CNTs/Polybond® Nanocomposites: Pursuit of Electroconductive Structural Polymer Nanocomplexes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, 2016
Electroconductive structural polymer-based nanocomposites (NCs) were prepared by incorporating carbon nanotubes (CNTs) into Polybond (PB) matrix via melt compounding technique. Chemical structure of NCs, investigated via Fourier transform infrared (FTIR)

Exploration of heterogeneity and recurrence signatures in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study leveraged public datasets and integrative bioinformatic analysis to dissect malignant cell heterogeneity between relapsed and primary HCC, focusing on intercellular communication, differentiation status, metabolic activity, and transcriptomic profiles.

Fast Multiplication of Matrices with Decay [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
A fast algorithm for the approximate multiplication of matrices with decay is introduced; the Sparse Approximate Matrix Multiply (SpAMM) reduces complexity in the product space, a different approach from current methods that economize within the matrix space through truncation or rank reduction. Matrix truncation (element dropping) is compared to SpAMM

Sparse non-negative matrix factorizations via alternating non-negativity-constrained least squares for microarray data analysis

open access: yesBioinform., 2007
MOTIVATION Many practical pattern recognition problems require non-negativity constraints. For example, pixels in digital images and chemical concentrations in bioinformatics are non-negative.

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

The atypical KRASQ22K mutation directs TGF‐β response towards partial epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in patient‐derived colorectal cancer tumoroids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TGF‐β has a complex role in cancer, exhibiting both tumor‐suppressive and tumor‐promoting properties. Using a series of differentiated tumoroids, derived from different stages and mutational background of colorectal cancer patients, we replicate this duality of TGF‐β in vitro. Notably, the atypical but highly aggressive KRASQ22K mutation rendered early‐

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...
