Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

The Control Strategy of Buck-Type 3-1 MC Under Unbalanced Input Voltage

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
To optimize input current distortion, output voltage fluctuation, and other problems caused by a three-phase to single-phase matrix converter (3-1 MC) under unbalanced input voltage, the harmonic characteristic of the 3-1 MC input current is analyzed.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Enhanced Modulated Model Predictive Control for Matrix Converters in Overmodulation Zones

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics
Modulated Model Predictive Control (MMPC) techniques can be applied to enhance matrix converter (MC) performance in the linear modulation zone (LMZ). However, extending the converter operation in the overmodulation zone (OMZ) remains a problem.

Irradiation‐Induced Spin Bath Evolution and as‐Grown Hydrogen Defects in CVD Diamond Revealed by NV‐Based DEER Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we provide the reader with the current state of the art in the fabrication of high‐T2‐coherence diamond, optimized through the use of double electron–electron resonance (DEER) spectroscopy. We reveal the main as well as yet unidentified spin defects, the reduction of which is essential for reducing the spin bath and fabricating materials for ...

Model predictive torque control of permanent magnet synchronous motor system driven by matrix converter

open access: yesJournal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation, 2018
Employing matrix converter(MC)as driving mode, the strategy of model predictive torque control(MPTC)is proposed for three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)system.MC is applied instead of conventional ACDC-AC converter to increase the power ...

Predictive Voltage Control in Multi-Modular Matrix Converters under Load Variation and Fault Scenario

open access: yesTechnologies
This paper presents a model predictive control (MPC) strategy to regulate output voltages in a multi-modular matrix converter topology for isolated loads. The converter system harnesses power from a six-phase permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)

Analysis and control of induction generator supplying stand-alone AC loads employing a Matrix Converter

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal, 2017
This paper proposes a Capacitor Excited Induction Generator (CEIG)-Matrix Converter (MC) system for feeding stand-alone AC loads. The variable output voltage magnitude and frequency from CEIG is converted into a constant voltage magnitude and frequency ...

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Matrix Converter Based on SVD Modulation Using a Microcontroller as Unique Controlling Device

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, the implementation of a complete set of control algorithms for a three-phase Matrix Converter (MC) is addressed. The control algorithms are implemented on a single Microcontroller Unit (MCU) of the enhanced C2000 Delfino family of Texas ...
