Orthonormal Ultraspherical Operational Matrix Algorithm for Fractal–Fractional Riccati Equation with Generalized Caputo Derivative

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2021
Herein, we developed and analyzed a new fractal–fractional (FF) operational matrix for orthonormal normalized ultraspherical polynomials. We used this matrix to handle the FF Riccati differential equation with the new generalized Caputo FF derivative ...

Moving in the Dark: Enlightening the Spatial Population Ecology of European Cave Salamanders

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
We assessed individual interactions, movement ecology and activity patterns of a subterranean population of Speleomantes strinatii, applying spatial capture–recapture modeling to a photographic dataset of 104 individuals. ABSTRACT Space use and movement are fundamental aspects of organisms' ecology, mirroring individual fitness, behavior, and life ...

Algebraic treatment of the Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator and its PT-variant

open access: yes, 2019
The algebraic method enables one to study the properties of the spectrum of a quadratic Hamiltonian through the mathematical properties of a matrix representation called regular or adjoint.

Exploring lipid diversity and minimalism to define membrane requirements for synthetic cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Designing the lipid membrane of synthetic cells is a complex task, in which its various roles (among them solute transport, membrane protein support, and self‐replication) should all be integrated. In this review, we report the latest top‐down and bottom‐up advances and discuss compatibility and complexity issues of current engineering approaches ...

Nonlinear boudary value problem in the case of parametric resonance [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2015
We construct necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solution of seminonlinear matrix boundary value problem for a parametric excitation system of ordinary differential equations.

Microbial exopolysaccharide production by polyextremophiles in the adaptation to multiple extremes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Polyextremophiles are microorganisms that endure multiple extreme conditions by various adaptation strategies that also include the production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs). This review provides an integrated perspective on EPS biosynthesis, function, and regulation in these organisms, emphasizing their critical role in survival and highlighting their ...

From polymers to quantum gravity: triple-scaling in rectangular matrix models

open access: yes, 1991
Rectangular $N\times M$ matrix models can be solved in several qualitatively distinct large $N$ limits, since two independent parameters govern the size of the matrix.

Existence of a Unique Solution and the Hyers–Ulam-H-Fox Stability of the Conformable Fractional Differential Equation by Matrix-Valued Fuzzy Controllers

open access: yesComplexity, 2022
In this paper, we consider a conformable fractional differential equation with a constant coefficient and obtain an approximation for this equation using the Radu–Mihet method, which is derived from the alternative fixed- point theorem.

Matrix Equation Techniques for Certain Evolutionary Partial Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Scientific Computing, 2021
AbstractWe show that the discrete operator stemming from time-space discretization of evolutionary partial differential equations can be represented in terms of a single Sylvester matrix equation. A novel solution strategy that combines projection techniques with the full exploitation of the entry-wise structure of the involved coefficient matrices is ...

Imeglimin attenuates liver fibrosis by inhibiting vesicular ATP release from hepatic stellate cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Imeglimin, at clinically relevant concentrations, inhibits vesicular ATP accumulation and release from hepatic stellate cells, thereby attenuating purinergic signaling and reducing fibrogenic activation. This mechanism reveals a newly identified antifibrotic action of imeglimin beyond glycemic control.
