Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

An approach to computing downward closures

open access: yes, 2015

Network Localization of Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...

Conductance matrix of multi terminal semiconductor devices with edge channels

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents a method for determining the conductance matrix of multi terminal semiconductor structures with edge channels. This method appears to be applied within frameworks of the ordinary Landauer - uttiker formalism for the carrier transport ...

Computationally intensive econometrics using a distributed matrix-programming language [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2002
This paper reviews the need for powerful computing facilities in econometrics, focusing on concrete problems which arise in financial economics and in macroeconomics. We argue that the profession is being held back by the lack of easy-to-use generic software which is able to exploit the availability of cheap clusters of distributed computers.

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

On equal matrix languages

open access: yesInformation and Control, 1969
A generative grammar called equal matrix grammar which generates a class which meets both context-sensitive and context-free languages is defined and the formal power series generated by context-free grammars is extended to grammars of this system. The Parikh mapping of this family of languages is shown to be semilinear.
