Mapping the Nonreciprocal Micromechanics of Individual Cells and the Surrounding Matrix Within Living Tissues

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
The biomechanical properties of the extracellular matrix (ECM) play an important role in cell migration, gene expression and differentiation. Biomechanics measurements of ECM are usually performed on cryotomed tissue sections.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Cardiac ECV mapping: Underlying concepts and clinical applications

open access: yesMeta-Radiology
Myocardial Extracellular volume fraction (ECV) mapping, based on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), is a crucial technique for assessing myocardial histological changes by evaluating extracellular matrix expansion. In recent years, cardiac ECV mapping has

Multilevel quadrature for elliptic problems on random domains by the coupling of FEM and BEM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Elliptic boundary value problems which are posed on a random domain can be mapped to a fixed, nominal domain. The randomness is thus transferred to the diffusion matrix and the loading.

On the transpose map of matrix algebras [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1983
It is shown that for the transpose map θ ( n ) \theta (n) of the n × n n \times n matrix algebra M n {M_n} , its k k th multiplicity map θ ( n

Skin-inspired highly stretchable and conformable matrix networks for multifunctional sensing

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Mechanosensation electronics (or Electronic skin, e-skin) consists of mechanically flexible and stretchable sensor networks that can detect and quantify various stimuli to mimic the human somatosensory system, with the sensations of touch, heat/cold, and

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Design of Mapping Matrix for Arithmetic Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Arithmetic bit-interleaved coded modulation (A-BICM) is a coded rate compatible modulation (RCM). It achieves progressive mapping to strike a trade-off between high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and low SNR.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

A New Existence and Uniqueness Theorem for Continuous Games [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper derives a general sufficient condition for existence and uniqueness in continuous games using a variant of the contraction mapping theorem applied to mapping from a subset of the real line on to itself.
