Assessing the integrity of CFRPs through nanomechanical mapping: the effect of CF surface modification

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of CF surface modification in enhancement of the wetting properties of carbon fibers in order to improve the adhesion force between the fiber and the polymer matrix; for this, the integrity of CFRPs ...

Evaluating Matrix Factorization Techniques for Thematic Mapping of Wilderness Walkability Using Multiple GPX Datasets [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Quantitative thematic mapping of walkability in wilderness areas is challenging due to sparse and unreliable data. Unlike urban walkability, which depends on built infrastructure, wilderness walkability is influenced by natural terrain features such as ...

Applying Metric Regularity to Compute a Condition Measure of a Smoothing Algorithm for Matrix Games

open access: yes, 2010
We develop an approach of variational analysis and generalized differentiation to conditioning issues for two-person zero-sum matrix games. Our major results establish precise relationships between a certain condition measure of the smoothing first-order

May the matrix be with you! Guidelines for the application of expert-based matrix approach for ecosystem services assessment and mapping

open access: yes, 2018
Matrices or look-up tables are increasingly popular fl exible tools for ecosystem services mapping and assessment. The matrix approach links ecosystem types or land cover types to ecosystem services by providing a score for ecosystem service (ES) capacity,

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Emergence of Quantum Ergodicity in Rough Billiards

open access: yes, 1997
By analytical mapping of the eigenvalue problem in rough billiards on to a band random matrix model a new regime of Wigner ergodicity is found. There the eigenstates are extended over the whole energy surface but have a strongly peaked structure.

Noniterative MAP Reconstruction Using Sparse Matrix Representations [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2009
We present a method for noniterative maximum a posteriori (MAP) tomographic reconstruction which is based on the use of sparse matrix representations. Our approach is to precompute and store the inverse matrix required for MAP reconstruction. This approach has generally not been used in the past because the inverse matrix is typically large and fully ...

On the Application of Joint-Domain Dictionary Mapping for Multiple Power Disturbance Assessment

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
This paper proposes a joint-domain dictionary mapping method to obtain high assessment accuracy of multiple power disturbances. Firstly, in order to achieve resolutions in both the time and frequency domains, a joint-domain dictionary is proposed which ...
