Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

In many situations it is very useful to have a single nonnegative real number to be, in some sense, the measure of the size of a vector or a matrix. As a matter of fact we do a similiar thing with scalars, we let j j represent the familiar absolute value or modulus of . Fora vector x e: C , one way n of assigning magnitude is the usual definition of

The Hölder \(p\)-norm of an \(m\times n\) matrix has no explicit representation unless \(p=1,2\hbox{ or }\infty\). It is shown that the \(p\)- norm can be estimated reliably in \(O(mn)\) operations. A generalization of the power method is used, with a starting vector determined by a technique with a condition estimation flavour.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Weighted Low Rank Approximation for Background Estimation Problems
Classical principal component analysis (PCA) is not robust to the presence of sparse outliers in the data. The use of the $\ell_1$ norm in the Robust PCA (RPCA) method successfully eliminates the weakness of PCA in separating the sparse outliers. In this

To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Salient Object Detection Based on Unified Convex Surrogate for Non-Convex Schatten-
Nuclear norm and l1 norm are the common regularization in salient object detection. However, existing literatures show that these terms either 1) are very slow for large scale problems due to singular value decomposition (SVD) on full matrix in every ...

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
