Bottom‐Up Programming of Cell States in Cancer Organoids with Defined Synthetic Adhesion Cues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A bottom‐up biomaterial platform is developed to program transcriptomic states in pancreatic cancer organoids by tuning adhesion cues within synthetic matrices. By combining a Design of Experiments framework with multiobjective optimization, matrix compositions are identified that enrich specific cellular programs like EMT.

Novel Approach to Real Polynomial Root-finding and Matrix Eigen-solving [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Univariate polynomial root-finding is both classical and important for modern computing. Frequently one seeks just the real roots of a polynomial with real coefficients.

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

Bivariate Polynomial Matrix and Smith Form

open access: yesMathematics
Matrix equivalence plays a pivotal role in multidimensional systems, which are typically represented by multivariate polynomial matrices. The Smith form of matrices is one of the important research topics in polynomial matrices.

Humid‐Air Condensation Heat Transfer on Hierarchical Structured Superhydrophobic Graphite Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Humid‐air condensation on graphite composites shows that making a surface superhydrophobic is not sufficient to enhance heat transfer. A hierarchical CuO/lauric‐acid coating yields spherical droplets but promotes Wenzel‐type pinning and adds effective thermal resistance under operation.

New Operational Matrix via Genocchi Polynomials for Solving Fredholm-Volterra Fractional Integro-Differential Equations

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2017
It is known that Genocchi polynomials have some advantages over classical orthogonal polynomials in approximating function, such as lesser terms and smaller coefficients of individual terms.

Additive Manufacture of Diamond:Titanium Hybrid Quantum Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Additive manufacture represents one of the most advanced techniques for the creation of complex parts for applications as diverse as aerospace and implant surgery. However, a challenge with bespoke manufacture of metal parts is the incorporation of sensor elements in a fashion compatible with the 3D printing process.

Relative asymptotics for orthogonal matrix polynomials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we study sequences of matrix polynomials that satisfy a non-symmetric recurrence relation. To study this kind of sequences we use a vector interpretation of the matrix orthogonality.

Strongly Damped Quadratic Matrix Polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 2015
Summary: We study the eigenvalues and eigenspaces of the quadratic matrix polynomial \(M\lambda^2+sD\lambda+K\) as \(s\to\infty\), where \(M\) and \(K\) are symmetric positive definite and \(D\) is symmetric positive semidefinite. This work is motivated by its application to modal analysis of finite element models with strong linear damping.
