The isogeometric (IG) Reissner–Mindlin (R–M) shell model solves the problem of shear and membrane locking that besets the finite element (FE) R–M shell model of nonthick underground structures, but still faces complicated modeling and computation, especially for the multijoint structures.

∗‐π‐Reversible ∗‐Semirings and Their Applications to Generalized Inverses
We introduce and study a new class of ∗‐semirings which is called ∗‐π‐reversible ∗‐semirings. A ∗‐semiring R is said to be ∗‐π‐reversible if for any a, b ∈ R, ab = 0 implies there exist two positive integers m and n such that bman∗=0. Some characterizations and examples of this class of semirings are given. As applications, generalized inverses related

Every simple compact semiring is finite
A Hausdorff topological semiring is called simple if every non-zero continuous homomorphism into another Hausdorff topological semiring is injective. Classical work by Anzai and Kaplansky implies that any simple compact ring is finite. We generalize this

Transitive Closure Preservers for Matrices over a Class of Semirings
We introduce the transitive closure operator Γ on the set of square matrices over a class of semirings, and then define the transitive closure of a matrix. We characterize the surjective linear transformations of matrices preserving (strongly preserving)

Rational semimodules over the max-plus semiring and geometric approach of discrete event systems [PDF]
We introduce rational semimodules over semirings whose addition is idempotent, like the max-plus semiring, in order to extend the geometric approach of linear control to discrete event systems.

Quadratic and Symmetric Bilinear Forms on Modules with Unique Base Over a Semiring [PDF]
We study quadratic forms on free modules with unique base, the situation that arises in tropical algebra, and prove the analog of Witt's Cancellation Theorem.

Bounds for the Completely Positive Rank of a Symmetric Matrix over a Tropical Semiring [PDF]
In this paper, an upper bound for the CP-rank of a matrix over a tropical semiring is obtained, according to the vertex clique cover of the graph prescribed by the positions of zero entries in the matrix. The graphs that beget the matrices with the lowest possible CP-ranks are studied, and it is proved that any such graph must have its diameter equal ...

INVERTIBLE MATRICES IN CERTAIN COMMUTATIVE SUBSEMIRINGS OF FULL MATRIX SEMIRINGS [PDF]

Z-matrix equations in max-algebra, nonnegative linear algebra and other semirings [PDF]
We study the max-algebraic analogue of equations involving Z-matrices and M-matrices, with an outlook to a more general algebraic setting. We show that these equations can be solved using the Frobenius trace down method in a way similar to that in non-negative linear algebra, characterizing the solvability in terms of supports and access relations.

This book has seven chapters. In chapter one we give the basics needed to make this book a self contained one. Chapter two introduces the notion of interval semigroups and interval semifields and are algebraically analysed.
