Experimental Study on Gravel Soils of Matrix Suction
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013Soil-water characteristic curve(SWCC)is closely relevant to two main factors which are structure and moisture content. According to the two factors the values of matrix suction of 45 groups experimental specimens within different moisture content and soil -stone ratio of unsaturated soil are get through filter paper method.

Experimental Research of Matrix Suction of the Unsaturated Red Clay
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Matric suction has great impact on the strength of soil. Some physico-mechanical indexes, such as the water content, dry density of soil, have close relationship with the matric suction. The experiments were conducted in the laboratory to study the relationship between the matric suction, the water content and dry density of unsaturated red clay.

Influence of matrix suction on engineering properties of unsaturated soil
2011 Second International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2011The fundamental difference between unsaturated soil and saturated soil is the matrix suction in unsaturated soil which causes distinction in such engineering properties as seepage and shear strength. Seepage and shear strength test were done with unsaturated triaxial apparatus.

Soil matrix suction: some examples of its measurement and application in geotechnical engineering
Geotechnique, 2003Soil matrix suction is assuming an increasing importance in geotechnical engineering. It is now recognised that soil suction is not confined to arid or semi-arid regions of the world. It is frequently encountered in a great many geotechnical problems in temperate climates.

Soil Suction Measurement of Unsaturated Soils with a Sensor Using Fixed-Matrix Porous Ceramic Discs
Indian Geotechnical Journal, 2016This paper presents suction measurements in case of unsaturated soils using a commercially available water potential sensor. The sensor uses ceramic discs of predetermined pore-size distribution (i.e., fixed-matrix) for suction measurement and a surface mounted thermistor to take temperature readings.
