Experimental Research of Matrix Suction of the Unsaturated Red Clay

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Matric suction has great impact on the strength of soil. Some physico-mechanical indexes, such as the water content, dry density of soil, have close relationship with the matric suction. The experiments were conducted in the laboratory to study the relationship between the matric suction, the water content and dry density of unsaturated red clay.

Influence of matrix suction on engineering properties of unsaturated soil

2011 Second International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2011
The fundamental difference between unsaturated soil and saturated soil is the matrix suction in unsaturated soil which causes distinction in such engineering properties as seepage and shear strength. Seepage and shear strength test were done with unsaturated triaxial apparatus.

Experimental evaluation of matrix suction and shear resistance of partially saturated sandy clay

2020 Congreso Internacional de Innovación y Tendencias en Ingeniería (CONIITI), 2020
At present, the construction of highways in Andean areas the connect the various most important towns and cities in South America has become has become a key element for its development, since these routes and viaducts allow free access to cover basic needs of education, work, food and health of the population.

Matrix removal of labyrinthine fistulae by non-suction technique with intraoperative dexamethasone injection

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 2013
Matrix removal by a non-suction technique with intraoperative dexamethasone injection is a safe and effective management modality, regardless of fistula size. Our goal was to evaluate the outcome of hearing treated by non-suction technique with intraoperative dexamethasone injection. This was a retrospective chart review of 720 mastoidectomy cases for ...

Matrix suction and diffusive transport in centrifuge models

Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1994
Centrifuge modelling of the lateral spread of a conservative solute in a partly saturated fine sand has been accomplished in a 3 m radius centrifuge at simulated gravitational accelerations of 25 and 50 g. The distributions of the contaminant after 2 months, 6 months, and 1 year of prototype time were found experimentally by dissection of models.

Matrix suction of unsaturated colluvium slope influenced by rainfall and plant condition: A case of Taiwan Huafan University

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2007
This study investigates the variation of matrix suction, water content and ground water level before and after the rainfall for the unsaturated colluvium slope in the campus of Fuafan University. The measuring devices including electrical matrix suction, water content and ground water level were set up in different surface of planting condition for ...

Cytoskeleton and pericellular matrix organization of pure adult human keratinocytes cultured from suction-blister roof epidermis

Journal of Cell Science, 1982
ABSTRACT Pure adult human kératinocyte cultures were raised from suction-blister roof epidermis and cultured in MCDB-151 medium. In primary culture the epidermal cells rapidly adhered, spread and began to proliferate on collagen-coated growth substrata but not on uncoated plastic or glass substrata.

Influence of aging, localization, glucocorticoids and isotretinoin on matrix metalloproteases 2 (MMP-2) and 9 (MMP-9) in suction blister fluids

Archives of Dermatological Research, 1995
The expression of two matrix metalloproteases (MMPs), 72 kDa gelatinase (MMP-2) and 92 kDa gelatinase (MMP-9), was studied in suction blister fluids and serum using a zymographic method. Both of the enzymes were detectable in blister fluid and serum, but their expression varied.

Retracted: Numerical Analysis of Unsaturated Laterite Slope in Jincheng Rail Based on Strength Reduction FEM Considering Matrix Suction

2016 International Conference on Smart City and Systems Engineering (ICSCSE), 2016
Rainfall and soak will often lead to instability of unsaturated slopes. This is mainly because with increasing of water content in soil mass, the matrix suction will reduce substantially and even disappear at all. In order to study the relationship between matrix suction and stability of unsaturated slopes, a typical unsaturated laterite slope in ...
